    • A Few Words from Fr. Dariusz

      6th Sunday of Easter

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Aaron Welsh, Alycia Evon, Amir Yako & Michael Sackrison, from our parish who were Confirmed last Sunday at Cabrini. May the Holy Spirit guide them in their lives and may Mary, Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ take them under her protective care along with St. Joseph her spouse.

We are going to crown Mary, the Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The month of May is in a special way dedicated to her. I remember when I was a child, we would go out to play outdoors and at 7pm, people in the village along with us would come to a marble cross with an altar in front of it dedicated to Mary with her statue (since there was no church in the village) to say our prayers together.

Some of you asked our ushers when I am going to England with our parish group. We are leaving on Monday, May 13th in the afternoon after Mother's Day. Please keep us in your prayers.

Last Sunday at the 11:30am Mass I memtioned an app for those who travel and need the internet access. Here it goies. It is called airalo. You can purchase your internet by local eSIMs, Reginal eSIMs, and Global eSIMs. With this app on your cellphones including iPhone as well.

In today's First Reading St. Peter, the first Pope of the Roman Catholic Church gave us three spritual messages: First of all, when Cornelius, the centurion of the Roman cohort fell at St. Peter's feet and worshipped him, he was made to stand up and to stop it. As St. Peter indicated, he was not a god, but he was a mortal.

Secondly, St. Peter said that God shows no partiality. He created us all equal in His image. We all have been created with a soul and a body. The Catholic Church teaches us that we do have a soul. The soul is the innermost aspect of man, that which is of greatest value to him, that by which he is most especially in God's image. Soul signifies the spiritual principle of man.

In view of the fact that each person, male or female, has a soul and body. God has shown no partiality.

Thirdly, St. Peter tells us that the Sacrament of Baptism is not reserved for God's people of the Old Testament. Christ died for all of us. And the proof is the fact that the Holy Spirit poured out his gifts on the Gentiles as much as on God's chosen people of the Old Testament. The Spirit of God does not show partiality.

In the Reading, we read that God loves us abundantly and gives endlessly to us. He shows no partiality. He created us equal with a soul and body. He does not look at the age, gender, race or nationality of a person. God sent His beloved Son Jesus to die on the cross for the remission of the sins of all those who will accept Him through persevernce in their living faith and the Sacrament of Baptism.

In the Second Reading, John commands us to love one another because God is love. If God can give us the best of all what He possesses as His sign of love, can we not as His children do the same thing? Can we not shine in our love by giving generously to all in need?

In today's Gospel, John says that if we keep His Commandments, we will abide in His love just as He has kept His Father's commanments and abided in His love. We should obey the Commandments of God and abide in His love for the joy of Jesus to be in us so our joy may be complete.

May  God Bless All of Us

And Jesus came and said to them, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age."
